Romanian Drone
The Romanian Drone is an ambitious project developed by S. Carfil S.A., the largest company in the defense industry in Romania. With a century-long tradition in the production of weaponry and associated ammunition, the company is renowned for its innovative products.
The domestic production of industrial drones marks a strategic advancement for Romania’s defense sector, representing the first strategic partnership of a local company in the field of UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) production for both military and civil applications.
S. Carfil S.A. has signed a collaboration agreement with Periscope Aviation, a division of the American company Chartis Federal, to enhance capabilities in drone production and aviation technology. This partnership aims to develop and produce military and civilian drones tailored to specific missions such as ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance), tactical aerial resupply, long-range communications, loitering munitions, kamikaze systems, and the enhancement of C6ISR systems.

This collaboration stems from the complementary strengths of both companies. S. Carfil S.A., recognized for its expertise in innovative defense products, sought to expand into the drone technology sector. Periscope Aviation, a leader in drone innovation, proved to be the ideal partner, offering advanced and customized drone solutions to support this growth.
