The Romanian Drone
The Romanian Drone is an ambitious project developed by S. Carfil S.A., the largest defense industry company in Romania. With a century-long tradition in the production of weapons and associated ammunition, the company is renowned for its innovative products.
The domestic production of industrial drones marks a strategic advance for the Romanian defense sector, representing the first strategic partnership of a local company in the field of UAV (unmanned aerial vehicles) production for both military and civilian applications.
S. Carfil S.A. has entered into a collaboration agreement with Periscope Aviation, a division of the American company Chartis Federal, to improve capabilities in drone production and aviation technology. This partnership aims to develop and produce military and civil drones adapted to specific missions, such as ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance), tactical aerial refueling, long-range communications, whining munitions, kamikazes and the improvement of C6ISR systems.

This collaboration stems from the complementary strengths of both companies. S. Carfil S.A., recognized for its expertise in innovative defense products, sought to expand into the drone technology sector.
